Poaching case occurs at scientific reserve in Moldova

Chisinau, 10 February /MOLDPRES/ - The Moldsilva Forestry Agency today informed about an incident of poaching, which occurred at the Plaiul Fagului (Beech Region) scientific reserve on 9 February.
„An extraordinary case of poaching took place at the Beech Region State Nature Reserve. On 9 February 2021, at 23:00, four unknown individuals broke open the access door and treated rudely the guard on duty. Subsequently, they entered inside the reserve and took to poaching,’’ reads a press release by Moldsilva.
According to the director of the nature reserve, Stefan Deleanu, preliminary investigations show that one wild boar was shot dead and three ones were wounded and the damages inflicted to the heritage are to be documented.
The police bodies were alerted and the transport means has been established so far and the people involved and all circumstances of the incident are to be identified.
The Moldsilva Agency comes up with a call to residents and asks the citizens to inform through the anticorruption specialized line, phone number 022 211-311, if they have information on this case.
