Chisinau, 11 March /MOLDPRES/ - The Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE) has settled the problem of documentation of Moldovan fellow countrymen from the Diaspora. Thus, the consular sections of Moldova’s Embassies in Tokyo and Hague received the stations of collection of biometric data and will accept the applications for the processing of the passport of Moldovan citizen, the MAEIE press service has reported.

The citizens settled in Japan and the states of the Asia Pacific region are invited to register at the email: [email protected] or the phone number +81 80 35225 1622. More information can be consulted on the website of the diplomatic mission: www.japonia.mfa.gov.md.

The Moldovan fellow countrymen from the Netherlands will soon be able to process the passport at the headquarters of the mission in the Hague city. For additional information, consult the website of the embassy: www.olanda.mfa.gov.md.

In 2020, Moldova’s diplomatic missions and consular offices provided 102,103 consular services. Most consular services were provided in Padua (18,221), Moscow (14,231), Milan (13,517), Rome (6,396), Paris (5,256), Frankfurt (4,703), Lisbon (3,908), Iasi (3,228), Istanbul (2,894) and Berlin (2,696).

The qualitative providing of consular services to the Diaspora represents a constant concern of MAEIE. In the context, the ministry reminds that, while intending to ensure the citizens’ access to alternative payment ways for the consular services provided, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry instructed to the diplomatic missions and consular offices the collection of payments for consular services only by bank transfer or other non-cash payment instruments and services. As an exception, the missions have right to make the collection of payments in cash for the consular services provided only in cases when the banking institution is closed.
