Moldovan acting PM says no physician infected with Covid-19 in last 24 hours, which confirms vaccine's efficiency

Chisinau, 20 April /MOLDPRES/ - Acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi today chaired a meeting of the single command centre of the emergency state, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

According to the latest information provided by the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS) and the National Public Health Agency (ANPS), 453 new cases of infection with Covid-19 were registered in Moldova, out of the 5,077 tests made. At the same time, 1,151 patients are in serious condition, another 262 are in quite serious condition and 50 are intubated. Unfortunately, 25 deaths have been recorded so far.  

Acting PM Aureliu Ciocoi noted that about 1,000 pregnant women were treated from Covid-19 and almost 13,000 children remain infected with Sars-Cov-2 all over Moldova. ‘’Last year, there were practically no children infected with Covid-19. Yet, now, children are also hit by this British stem, with most children sick having ages between 10 and 17 years,’’ the official said.   

Data proposed by MSMPS shows that only 8 are medical employees out of all infections recorded today: 4 medical assistants and 4 auxiliary staff employees.  

„Fortunately, no physician has been infected with the Covid-19 virus in the last 24 hours, which actually confirms the efficiency of the vaccine,’’ the prime minister stressed.   

Meanwhile, the Taraclia, Hancesti and Floresti districts got out of the red code of alert as to the epidemiological situation and this given that less than 100 cases per 1,000 residents have been registered in the last days.

So far, 89,000 people have been vaccinated with the first dose of anti-Covid vaccine. Over 50,000 out of those 180,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine, received by Moldova, were distributed all over the country just today. The rest of the doses from this consignment are preserved, in order to be able to make the revaccination.   

Information provided by MAI shows that a large number of servicemen continue patrolling in the districts Chisinau, Balti and Straseni. As many as 15,896 economic agents and 1,135 churches have been verified since the establishment of the emergency state till present. MAI employees documented 3,975 infringements and the overall sum of the fines imposed stands at over 7 million lei.   

Policemen face difficulties in the management of the flow of embarking in the public transport and record serious infringements during religious services, were people continue to take the communion with the same spoon.
