Medical employees' salaries might be increased by 40 per cent in Moldova

Chisinau, 23 April /MOLDPRES/ - The MPs today approved, in the first reading, a legislative initiative on the increasing of the salaries of the employees from the public medical and sanitary institutions by 40 per cent as of 1 July 2021.  

The document sees earmarking of additional financial resources for increasing the salaries of all categories of staff employed at the public medical and sanitary institutions involved in the system of mandatory health insurance, including the accountants, economists and other categories of administrative and economic personnel, who have earlier benefited from a 3-per cent growth.  

The needed expenses for the increase of the office salaries suggested in the draft are estimated at about 685 million lei for 2021, from which about 45,000 people will benefit.  

Also, the lawmakers propose the allocation of another about 272 million lei for providing the increase to the staff involved in the providing of medical assistance to the people who meet the criteria of the COVID-19 case definition, as a result of the increase in the number of personnel involved in the infection’s treatment.
