Chisinau, 26 April /MOLDPRES/- The Regional Development Agency Center (ADR) has recently signed a separate Agreement with the German Bank Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW). The agency will implement the project Improving water infrastructure in Central Moldova, following the signing in January 2021 of financial and grant agreements worth ten million euros, supported by the German Government through KfW.

According to ADR Centru, the Agreement ensures the continuity of the project by initiating phase II of the program and implementing support and consultancy measures, meant for institutional development of water operators in the project area.

„The grant worth 1.5 million euros will allow the initiation of a lot of measures that will ensure the process of regionalization and increase of managerial capacities within the water operators from Straseni and Calarasi districts. As a result of the consultancy offered, important strategic documents will be set: development strategies and business plans, institutional performance evaluation, support in financial and tariff management as well as various training seminars and awareness and information campaigns, ” source said.

At the same time, ADR Centru initiated the coordination and adjustment of the additional agreement to be signed with the German company Consulting Engineers Salzgitter GmbH, which on 15 September 2020 launched the design works for the Chisinau-Straseni-Calarasi highway and worked out preliminary technical projects for four other localities from Straseni and Calarasi.

Currently, the total budget of the project is 28,050,000 euros, being covered by the grant of the German Government amounting to 25,000,000 euros and the contribution of the National Regional Development Fund worth 3,050,000 euros. The full use of the available financial sources is planned by late 2025.
