Presidents of Moldova, Slovakia discuss bilateral relations, regional situation

Chisinau, 26 May /MOLDPRES/ - The deepening of the bilateral dialogue and the economic cooperation, management of the pandemic and the political situation in Moldova and the region were the principal subjects discussed by President Maia Sandu and President of Slovakia Zuzana Čaputová, the presidential press service has reported.

„I thanked Slovakia for the consistent support provided to Moldova for development programmes, as well as for the financial backing of hospitals from Moldova. Due to this, the Moldovan sanitary institutions were able to buy advanced equipment in combating COVID-19,’’ Maia Sandu said.

The head of state appreciated the importance attached by Slovakia, as member of the Visegrad Group, to the consolidation of the relations with the Eastern Partnership states. Also, President Maia Sandu invited Zuzana Čaputová to pay a visit to Moldova when the pandemic situation allows this.
