Mihai Eminescu National Theatre of Moldova: 100th anniversary of foundation

Chisinau, 14 June /MOLDPRES/ - The 100th anniversary of the foundation of the Mihai Eminescu National Theatre (TNME) with status of national theatre will be marked on 6 October. The institution’s foundation was influenced by more initiatives coming from personalities of the Romanian culture and culture institutions. The today’s subject is about the buildings where the Romanian National Theatre from Chisinau carried out its work.

Contacted by MOLDPRES, TNME director Petru Hadarca said that, during its history of 100 years, the Mihai Eminescu National Theatre has carried out its activity in more hall: the house of the Club of Nobility, called like this after the name of the tenant (presently, the Patria Loteanu Movie Theatre is placed there), in the hall of the theatre-circus-movie theatre (where the National Philharmonic was situation till not so long ago), in the hall of the Orfeum theatre-movie theatre and certainly, in the current building, constructed in neo-classical style on the Stefan cel Mare boulevard  79.
