Moldovan parliament speaker inaugurates discussions on enhancing efficiency of regional organizations at Antalya Diplomacy Forum

Chisinau, 19 June /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Zinaida Greceanii, attending the Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF), today inaugurated the roundtable of discussions on enhancing the efficiency of the regional organizations, the parliament’s communication and public relations general department has reported.    

In her speech, the speaker said that she was honoured to start discussions within the third session of ADF roundtable and namely the ones on enhancing the efficiency of the regional organizations.

The official noted that the international and regional organizations provided the legal framework for cooperation, ensured the uniformity of acts, as well as the mechanisms necessary for transposing the decisions in concrete actions. ‘’As parliament speaker, many times, I made sure of the efficiency of the international and regional organizations in tackling certain subjects of common interest between the member countries. As well as of the nice results achieved together.’’

According to the parliament speaker, the common approaches and visions on certain subjects, the international legal framework accepted by the sides, as well as the good cooperation can contribute to optimizing and settling many regional problems. The good-neighbour relations, the tradition ones and the regional interests are essential in this cooperation.   

Zinaida Greceanii stressed as example the Covid-19 pandemic, which imposed common approaches not only regionally, but even all over the world. The restrictions approved by the countries from the region, epidemiological rules which need to be observed, the diagnosis and treatment of the people infected, as well as the bad need of vaccination represent proof of approaches of efficient regional policies. ‘’Through such joint visions, we can hope for the overcoming of the coronavirus pandemic as soon as possible,’’ the official said.     

The parliament speaker showed confidence that the regional organizations represent a force, a strength, which can move many things and can sometimes accomplish what seems to be impossible.

Zinaida Greceanii on 18-20 June participates in the first issue of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, organized under auspices of President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.    

The forum is conceived as a yearly meeting of the political leaders, high-ranking officials, academic environment, opinion makers, mass media and representatives of the private sector, as well as of outstanding intellectuals in the international affairs and diplomacy sector. The innovation diplomacy: new age, new approaches, is the subject of the first issue, which will be tackled at more roundtable sessions. Speaker Zinaida Greceanii will give a speech at the round dedicated to the parliamentary diplomacy.
