Moldovan foreign affairs minister has phone conversation with Estonian counterpart

Chisinau, 22 June /MOLDPRES/ - Acting Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Aureliu Ciocoi today had a phone conversation with his Estonian counterpart Eva-Maria Liimets. The two ministers shortly reviewed the up-to-date issues on the agenda of the bilateral Moldovan-Estonian relations, noting, in particular, the positive dynamic of the high-level political dialogue and the cooperation in the fields of mutual interest.
The Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service has informed that Aureliu Ciocoi thanked the government of Estonia for the valuable support provided to Moldova in the promotion of the European agenda of reforms, including through maintaining Moldova among its priorities as to international cooperation for development, which contributed to implementing over 250 projects in the special and economic sector in various districts, and especially for the generous assistance provided to Moldova to combat the coronavirus pandemic, including through the recent decision to provide 100,000 doses of anti-Covid-19 vaccine.
For her part, the head of the Estonian diplomacy, Eva-Maria Liimets, encouraged the Moldovan authorities to continue the structural reforms, especially as to the strengthening of the rule of law state and combating corruption. At the same time, she confirmed willingness to further back the efforts undertaken to this end, including as regards the Transnistrian conflict settlement, with the observance of Moldova’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Minister Aureliu Ciocoi reiterated the invitation made to his Estonian counterpart to pay an official visit to Moldova, in order to continue the dialogue for consolidating the friendship and cooperation relations between the two countries.
