Chisinau, 28 June /MOLDPRES/ - The authorities from Chisinau and Tbilisi have agreed, by exchange of notes, on mutual recognition of the national anti-Covid-19 vaccination certificates, issued by the competent authorities from Moldova and Georgia, in the context of the Moldovan diplomacy’s efforts to get recognition of the national vaccination certificates, in order to facilitate the movement of Moldova’s citizens, especially on the summer period, with no obligation of isolation or testing.

According to the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service, the Moldovan diplomacy head, Aureliu Ciocoi, made statements to this effect following an agreement reached with his Georgian counterpart David Zalkaliani, held on the sidelines of the ministerial meeting of the Global Coalition against Daesh in Rome.

Georgia is the third country, after Hungary and Ukraine, with which Moldova agreed, at the bilateral level, through exchange of notes, on the mutual recognition of the national vaccination certificates.

The press service said that that similar approaches had been submitted, by diplomatic means, to the foreign affairs ministries of Romania, Turkey, the Czech Republic, Greece, Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.

Bulgaria, Spain and Montenegro informed about the recognition of the vaccination certificates issued by Moldova’s authorities, which comply with the World Health Organization’s standards.

The updated information on the conditions of travel is covered in weekly alerts published on the webpage of the Foreign Affairs Ministry at the section, Travel in safety: MAEIE explains the restrictions of travel abroad.
