Heavy rains flooded several households in southern, central regions

Chisinau, 6 July /MOLDPRES/- During yesterday evening, the employees of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations intervened to pump water from several households of Basarabeasca, Ialoveni, Ștefan Vodă, Anenii Noi, Straseni, Causeni districts and from Chisinau.

According to the above-mentioned inspectorate, the rescuers intervened with special equipment and motor pumps and carried out works to clear the fallen trees as a result of the strong wind.

They also dug rainwater drains to prevent flooding of certain endangered areas. In Causeni, firemen were asked to evacuate mud and water from households on two streets, and in the district of Stefan Voda - in the localities of Copanca and Răscăieți. The intervention of the rescuers was necessary in Ruseștii Noi, Ialoveni, as well as in Anenii Noi.

To prevent floods, IGSU employees performed pumping works in Durlești and Codru in Chisinau. In total, for the release of water households, rescuers intervened in 33 situations.
