IGSU received first trucks purchased within SMURD -2 Project

Chisinau, 7 July /MOLDPRES/- The first 10 trucks, out of the 14 purchased within the SMURD -2 Project, have arrived in the Republic of Moldova and are to complete the material technical base for emergency crew intervention.
According to the data of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations / IGSU /, eight trucks are of FRAP type, being intended for rapid intervention in case of fires or accidents, evacuation and transport of victims. They have fire-fighting equipment, release, first aid and a medical cell.
At the same time, two intensive care ambulances arrived at IGSU, which will be managed by the SMURD teams.
According to the SMURD - 2 Project, a total of 14 special vehicles equipped with high-performance medical equipment will be delivered in our country for providing qualified first aid and transporting patients to the hospital, as well as performing the release and rescue works. The project is funded by the European Union, with a budget of over 10 million euros, and provides for the reconstruction of two SMURD operating points in Ungheni and Cantemir, but also the construction of four landing platforms - takeoff for SMURD helicopters around four hospitals in Chisinau, Balti and Cahul.
