Over 21% of voters went to polls by 12.00

Chisinau, 11 July /MOLDPRES/- Over 625 thousand voters (21%) went to the polls by 12.00 in today's parliamentary elections. In the next few hours, another 16 polling stations will be opened for Moldovan citizens from the USA and Canada.

Central Electoral Commission (CEC) head Dorin Cimil said that at present, all polling stations in the country, as well as those open abroad, operate normally. "More than 625,000 voters have voted so far, and in the next few hours the last 16 polling stations will begin operations - in Canada and the United States. More than 6,000 voters have voted so far in the 41 polling stations opened on the left bank of the Dniester, "said Cimil.

He said that at several polling stations, set up abroad, there are crowds. "So far, more than 71,000 Moldovans living abroad have voted. At the moment, there are crowds at the polling stations in France, Ireland, Germany, Italy, Romania, Greece ", added Cimil.

A turnout of almost 23% was registered by 12:00 at legislative elections of 24 February 2019.
