Snap parliamentary elections of 11 July fair - OSCE

Chisinau, 13 July /MOLDPRES/- OSCE / ODIHR observer mission has acknowledged the correctness of the snap parliamentary elections.

Mission's head Tamás Meszerics said that the snap parliamentary elections on 11 July were fair, competitive and fundamental freedoms had largely been observed.

According to Meszerics, the legislative framework was favorable for the conduct of elections in a fair and democratic manner. The international official said that the Moldovan electoral legislation still needs rectifications. "There is a need for better management of appeals and the process of overseeing campaign finance," Meszerics said.

The overall conclusion of the OSCE / ODIHR observer mission was that the elections were conducted in a fair and democratic manner.
