Energy optimization works carried out at more education institutions from Moldova's capital

Chisinau, 13 July /MOLDPRES/ - The Chisinau city hall carries out works of restoration and thermal insulation at 23 municipal public institutions.  

The works of energy renovation and optimization are at an advanced stage at 19 out of those 23 public institutions included in the project titled, Energy Efficiency and thermal insulation of public institutions from the Chisinau municipality.

The interventions works are diverse and consist in measures of exterior insulation of buildings (walls, roofs, basement); woodwork’s replacement; setting ventilation systems with heat recovery; replacement of thermal systems; setting networks of interior illumination based on LEDs; intelligent metering systems; reestablishment of engineering networks.    

At the same time, works of thermal rehabilitation are carried out at six kindergartens from Chisinau, selected within this project.

According to the city hall, presently, decision-makers consider bids submitted for the energy rehabilitation of three hospitals from the capital: Valentin Ignatenco hospital, Holy Trinity municipal hospital and Gheorghe Paladi municipal hospital. ‘’The winner will be soon elected and the work themselves will start,’’ reads a press release by the city hall.    

The Chisinau general mayor, Ion Ceban, has earlier said that the overall value of the project, Energy Efficiency and thermal insulation of public institutions from the Chisinau municipality, is of 25 million euros. The project is implemented by the Chisinau city hall, with the financial participation of development partners: European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) (ten million euros, loan), European Investment Bank (EIB) (ten million euros, loan) and the Eastern Europe Energy Efficiency and Environment Partnership (E5P) (donor states – EU, Sweden, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovakia) (5 million euros, grant).
