Summer Olympic Games start

Chisinau, 23 July /MOLDPRES/ - The 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympic Games have officially opened.

Sportspeople Dan Olaru and Alexandra Marca bore Moldova’s flag at the opening ceremony. The Moldovan delegation is made up of 47 members: 20 sportspeople, 17 coaches and team leaders, three official persons, three physicians and masseurs, as well as four media representatives, who will cover all events in Tokyo.

Over 900 people attended the opening festivity, besides those about 10,000 sportspeople. The audience was made up of officials, journalists, artists and sportspeople.

The first Moldovan sportspeople due to enter the competition are bowmen people Alexandra Mârca and Dan Olaru (23 and 24 July), swimmer Tatiana Salcuțan (25 July) and Anna Dulce in target shooting (25 July), judo player Denis Vieru, category of 66 kg, (25 July), followed by Victor Sterpu (26 July).
