Moldovan, Japanese officials approach cooperation

Chisinau, 13 August /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration today met Katayama Yoshihiro, Japan's ambassador to Chisinau.
The MAEIE press service informed that the diplomats discussed the concrete way in which the bilateral dialogue can be intensified despite the geographical distance. In this context, Minister Nicu Popescu launched the invitation of the Japanese counterpart to pay a visit to Chisinau during 2022.
At the same time, it was agreed to stimulate efforts to attract new Japanese investments in the national economy based on the positive experience of the 3 companies that already operate in our country and offer jobs for about 5,000 Moldovans.
Minister Nicu Popescu also thanked for the constant support of the Republic of Moldova through official development assistance in the field of agriculture, education and health, as well as for the generous assistance provided in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
