Moldovan, European officials address economic recovery

Chisinau, 13 August /MOLDPRES/- Minister of Economy Sergiu Gaibu had a meeting today with head of the European Union Delegation in Chisinau Peter Michalko. During the meeting, the most important achievements of the cooperation agenda of the Republic of Moldova with the European Union were reviewed and some of the immediate priorities of the Moldova-EU dialogue were outlined in the context of the implementation of the Government's reform program, the MEI press service has reported.
Officials also discussed the economic recovery plan for the Republic of Moldova, announced by the European Commission in early June, as well as the functioning of free economic zones, including job creation, attracting foreign and domestic investment and the volume exports to the European market.
Gaibu praised the level of EU investment in Moldova and the constant assistance provided over the past decades, including through several EU-funded development projects implemented in various fields in all districts of the country. At the same time, he thanked the high European official for his personal contribution to the promotion of European values in our country and to the EU's proximity to citizens.
Peter Michalko congratulated Sergiu Gaibu on taking over the mandate of the Minister and wished him success in the activity and implementation of the Government Program, emphasizing that the EU will continue to be a reliable partner for the Republic of Moldova.
