Moldovan electoral body members attend General Assembly of Association of European Election Officials

Chisinau, 28 September /MOLDPRES/- A delegation of the Central Electoral Commission, led by head Angelica Caraman is attending the General Assembly of the Association of European Election Officials (ACEEEO) and the 30th Annual Conference on 28-30 September, held in Bucharest, Romania.

The motto of this year's edition is Youth participation and funding of political parties and election campaigns. Attending the event are about 100 election officials and international experts in electoral matters, as well as representatives of prestigious international institutions.

The agenda of the Conference includes plenary sessions and round tables, in which participants will discuss best practices on youth participation in the electoral process, trends and changes in recent decades on campaign financing, pandemic elections, challenges related to the implementation of alternative methods of vote, as well as communication and information of voters.

The Central Electoral Commission of the Republic of Moldova has been an institutional member of ACEEEO since 1998, and since September 2013 it has been part of the executive committee of this institution. Also, in 2014-2015, the CEC held the presidency of ACEEEO.

This year, the annual ACEEEO Conference is hosted by Permanent Electoral Authority of Romania, which holds for one year the presidency of the association.
