Chisinau, 1 October /MOLDPRES/- Gas supply contract between Gazprom and MoldovaGaz has been automatically extended for another month.

Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Spinu, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, announced on social media that "discussions on the gas supply contract for the Republic of Moldova continue" and that he received confirmation of the contract extension for another month. "In order not to jeopardize short-term gas deliveries, a few minutes ago, we confirmed the extension of the gas supply contract between MoldovaGaz and Gazprom for 1 month. The extension of the contract takes place under the same conditions under which Moldova received gas in September ", noted Spinu.

Spinu's statement was also confirmed by MoldovaGaz representatives, who issued a press release stating that "negotiations on the longer terms of validity and the price of the contract will continue in October." "The contract in force with JSC" Gazprom "on the conditions of supply of natural gas to the Republic of Moldova was extended by one month, until the end of October this year. This will ensure the supply of gas to all consumers in the country during this period. At the same time, the negotiations will continue ", it is mentioned in the communiqué.

On September 30, at midnight, the previous extension of the natural gas supply contract between MoldovaGaz and the Russian concern Gazprom expired.
