Six former, current employees of Ministry of Interior detained

Chisinau, 5 October /MOLDPRES/- The Intelligence and Security Service, the Internal Protection and Anti-Corruption Service of the Ministry of Interior together with the Prosecutor's Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases today detained six former and current MAI employees in the criminal investigation on fabrication of a case.

According to the SIS, during the criminal investigation, actions related to the fabrication of a criminal case regarding an alleged sexual crime, which was allegedly committed by a former employee of the Ministry of Interior, were documented.

The suspects, using the special status, allegedly recruited a person in order to falsely denounce and assisted him in falsifying the evidence presented, using the special technique.

If the detainees are found guilty, they risk a criminal sentence of imprisonment from 2 to 7 years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions for a period of 5 years to 10 years.
