Moldovan writer marks birthday anniversary

Chisinau, 10 October /MOLDPRES/ - Poet, publicist, drawer Lidia Ungureanu marks her 70th birthday anniversary today.  

Lidia Ungureanu was born in the Chetrosu village, northern Drochia district, in 1951. She graduated from the Philology Faculty of the Ion Creanga Pedagogical Institute in 1973. In the beginning, Ungureanu worked at the Stiinta (Science) Society, then at the Moldovan Writer’s Union, at the State Publishing House of Moldova.  

Ungureanu wrote poems for adults and children, texts for songs, graphic, prose and journalism in pages of newspapers and magazines from Romania.  

She debuted with a volume of poems in 1991. Lidia Ungureanu became member of the Moldovan Writer’s Union in 1995 and member of the Journalists’ Union of Moldova in 1992.    

She was awarded a special prize at the literary works section of the Lucian Blaga International Festival in Sebes, Romania, in 2002. Ungureanu also got a special prize for drawing of the Golden Apple Festival of Satire and Humour from Bistrita, Romania, in 2002.
