European integration - Moldova's clear choice, we count on Greece's support - speaker says

Chisinau, 8 November /MOLDPRES/- "European integration is clear and decisive option of citizens of the Republic of Moldova, and we continue to rely on support of Greece in achieving this goal." Speaker Igor Grosu made the statement at a meeting with President of the Friendship Group Hellenic Republic - Republic of Moldova Konstantinos Maravegias, who is currently in Chisinau with Greek Ambassador to Moldova, residing in Bucharest, Sofia Grammata, the parliament's communication and public relations department has reported.

Igor Grosu said that after his visit to Athens, the other day the Government of Chisinau approved the draft law for the ratification of the Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the Hellenic Republic in social security.

"It is an important achievement for the citizens of both countries. Our citizens in the diaspora will benefit from old-age pensions, disability pensions caused by general illnesses, pensions and disability benefits due to work accidents or caused by occupational diseases, survivor's pensions. Parliament will ratify this agreement as soon as possible. "

Officials also pointed out other areas where there is untapped potential for cooperation: economy, agriculture, tourism, culture, pandemic control, energy security, etc.

According to the officials, the Friendship Groups have a common agenda full of projects that will boost Moldovan-Greek relations, and the final beneficiaries will be citizens from both countries.
