Well-known Moldovan folk, light music singer says writing book of memories

Chisinau, 8 November /MOLDPRES/ - A well-known folk and light music singer, People’s Artist, owner of the Order of the Republic Zinaida Julea writes a book of memories.

Contacted by MOLDPRES, Zinaida Julea said she had been working on this project for more time. ‘’During my life and the artistic career, I travelled all over the world, on diverse continents. Along with the Fluieras folk music orchestra, led by master Serghei Lunchevici, who employed me in this artistic band at the age of 16 years, I made tours to innumerable countries of the world. I have whom to write about,’’ the singer stressed.     

According to Julea, the volume is about people dear to my soul, whom I had known, about the customs and traditions from the countries visited by the singer. The book also has funny events and sadder ones and is full of the life she lived with much self-denial. The singer has nice memories about the concerts presented with the Fluieras Orchestra along with her colleagues on prestigious stages from Moscow, as well as on theatres from Paris, Rome, Lisbon, Rio de Janeiro, Lima, Mexico City, Delhi, Helsinki, etc.    

Zinaida Julea was born in the Harbovat village, eastern Anenii Noi district, on 2 December 1951. She studied at the Stefan Neaga general music school in 1973-1977 and the Arts Institute in 1988-1993. At the age of 16, Zinaida Julea was invited by master Serghei Lunchevici as soloist in the Flueras folk music orchestra of the Chisinau Philharmonic, where she worked till 1991.   

During several years, Zinaida Julea was employed at the Mugurel folk music orchestra, led by Ion Dascal. Afterwards, she worked with the folk music Orchestra Lautarii (The Fiddlers), Orchestra of the JOC Ensemble, Folclor Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra of the Teleradio-Moldova Company, led by Gheorghe Mustea, Symphony Orchestra of the National Philharmonic, conducted by Valentin Doni at that time. Presently, she is soloist of the Municipal Orchestra led by brothers Vasile and Vitalie Advahov.   

In 1976, Zinaida Julea was awarded the honorific title of Merited Artist and in 1985 – People’s Artist. In 1993, she was awarded the medal Civic Merit and in 1997 – Order of the Republic. A street bears the singer’s name in her native village.
