ANP employees, special forces raided several penitentiaries in Moldova

Chisinau, 18 November /MOLDPRES/- Employees of the National Administration of Penitentiaries (ANP) with the support of the National Investigation Inspectorate of IGP, DDS Pantera raided Penitentiary No13-Chisinau and Penitentiary No4 in Cricova.

According to ANP, following unannounced searches carried out in the cells of the detainees from Penitentiary No13-Chisinau were found and picked up from various hiding places mobile phones and accessories for them, sets of playing cards, alcoholic beverages and raw materials for the preparation of alcoholic beverages.

Following the raids on Penitentiary No4 in Cricova, law enforcement officers seized large quantities of alcohol, mobile phones, information carriers and banned substances.

Prohibited objects and substances found in detainees have been seized and documented in accordance with the law and will be handed over to the police.

According to the ANP, such operations are carried out in order to strengthen the detention regime, to detect and seize prohibited objects and substances in detention institutions.
