Moldovan acting Prosecutor General resumes criminal prosecution on file of 7 April 2009 events

Chisinau, 25 November /MOLDPRES/ - Acting Prosecutor General Dumitru Robu has resumed the criminal prosecution on the file of the events from 7 April 2009 and instructed the instrumenting of the file by the Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Causes (PCCOCS).

The criminal prosecution was restarted following the verification of the information reported by citizen Boris Sprincean at a TV programme on 10 November 2021 and afterwards the a submission of a notification on this subject by MP Lilian Carp.

In continuation, PCCOCS prosecutors are to undertaken the procedural and criminal actions necessary for the investigation, including of the version presented by the participants in the TV programme, according to which certain trained persons had the role to change the goal of the events, by using fire guns.

According to PCCOCS, the investigations will be carried out including through the light of the offences of stat power usurpation, mass disorder and imperative of the national security.
