List of aid beneficiaries for cold period of year to be extended

Chisinau, Nov. 26 / MOLDPRES /- The minimum monthly income, based on which disadvantaged families will be able to apply for aid for the cold period of the year, will be increased by 478.4 lei. A bill in this regard was voted in the final reading yesterday by the Parliament.
The document provides for the increase of the multiplier for the guaranteed average monthly income, from the index 2.2 to 2.6, which is used to establish the right to aid for the cold period of the year. Thus, the minimum monthly income, based on which disadvantaged families will be able to apply for aid for the cold period of the year, will be increased by 478.4 lei, from 2,631.2 lei to 3,109.6 lei.
Eligible persons wishing to benefit from this aid for the first time must submit a standard application to the Community Welfare Service and, if necessary, submit other information on income. After processing the applications in the information system, the decision to grant aid for the cold period of the year is issued.
About 300 thousand families will benefit from this facility. For this purpose, about 217 million lei are to be allocated from the state budget. Payment of the aid for the cold period of the year will be made for the previous month and will be calculated from 1 November this year.
The government changed the amount of aid for the cold period of the year, by increasing it from 500 lei to 700 lei, for November 2021-March 2022.
