Chisinau, 1 December /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) today evening voted, with six fors and two abstainings, a decision, thereby demanding that the Balti Court cancels the registration of Marina Tauber as electoral contender for the office of Balti city’s mayor.

The central electoral authority held an extraordinary meeting, during which it called to public hearings more persons, who confirmed that Shor Party’s representatives had made payments for the nourishment of at least 20 supporters /electoral agents of electoral contender Marina Tauber.

Following the hearings, a CEC member, Pavel Postica, found out that the minimal figure of expenses which had not been declared by the candidate of the Shor Party was of 34, 260 thousands lei. Postica noted that, along with the figure of 734,000 lei, registered by the Shor Party in terms of expenses on 1 December, this political formation exceeds the ceiling of spending approved by CEC for the Balti municipality. The maximal figure approved for electoral expenditures expenses in the Balti city is of 759, 289 lei.

„Given that the electoral contender of the Shor Party, Marina Tauber, exceeded the ceiling of expenses approved by the electoral authority by 9,000 lei and used funds non-declared to the electoral authority, in order to discourage the getting of a mandate of local authority through the use of non-declared financial funds, I urge the CEC members to ask the Balti Court to cancel the registration of Marina Tauber as electoral contender,’’ Pavel Postica said.

The decision was voted with six votes for and two abstainings. The electoral authority is to submit the entire file to the Balti Court.
