Chisinau, 3 Dec. / MOLDPRES /-Moldova State University (USM) concluded a collaboration protocol yesterday with the Department for Relations with the Republic of Moldova (DRRM) of the Romanian Government.

According to the protocol, by late 2021 DRRM will support the endowment of the journalism laboratory of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication Sciences in order to set up a USM television station, where future generations of journalists will be able to learn and improve in the best condition.

State Secretary of the Department for Relations with the Republic of Moldova Adrian Dupu said that the protocol continues the beautiful relationship of the Republic of Moldova with Romania, and the endowment of a journalism laboratory within USM welcomes students who will do quality journalism. "We hope that this TV lab will promote human values, such as objectivity, equidistance and impartiality, in order to publicize the reality on both banks of the Prut," Dupu said.

Romanian ambassador to Moldova Daniel Ioniță encouraged the young scholars to persevere in achieving the goals of true professionals in the media-communication field, in order to confirm the status of the fourth power in the state. "Everywhere in the world, every society needs professionalism, objectivity, equidistance and strong voices in journalism to be guided by sound moral principles. Today, when the world is immersed in fake news, misinformation and lies, you need to have islands of stability that are created only by journalists ", he said.

USM rector Igor Sharov reiterated the importance of partnerships with Romanian institutions, mentioning many projects the university has initiated and carried out recently, in order to consolidate and increase performance in all educational dimensions. "All the efforts made for the good development of the projects at USM are oriented towards students and the improvement of their study conditions", he said.

In 2021, DRRM supported the creation at USM of the Romanian Information Center Gheorghe Brătianu, the organization of the International Colloquium of Language Sciences Eugeniu Coşeriu, other activities.
