Belvedere platform inaugurated at Old Orhei Cultural and Natural Reserve from Moldova

Chisinau, 3 December /MOLDPRES/ - A belvedere platform was inaugurated at the Old Orhei Cultural and Natural Reserve today. It was placed at one of the most attractive locations of the Reserve, giving a unique view to the narrow strait and its tourist objects, thus becoming a point of spontaneous stop for visitors.   

The platform has an area of 38 square metres and a capacity of 20 people, being completed with a paved access way, 115 metres of protection balustrade and an artistic illumination system. The platform also has an information panel about the cultural heritage of the Old Orhei Reserve, made in the Braille system for bling people.    

Attending the event, Culture Minister Sergiu Prodan said that each national tourist object must give access to people with special needs, thus strengthening their social inclusion.   

”This aspect was highlighted and acknowledged, in particular, by the World Tourism Organization, which encouraged, through the subject of the World Tourism Day from 2021, the focusing on the Tourism for Inclusive Growth, being an opportunity to look beyond the tourism statistics and recognize that, in fact, a MAN is behind each existing number, figure,’’ the minister said.      

The arrangement of the belvedere point was carried out by the Old Orhei Cultural and Natural Reserve, with the support of USDA Forest Service and Moldova’s Culture Ministry.
