347 explosives destroyed by sappers last month

Chisinau, Dec. 8 / MOLDPRES /- In November, National Army sappers carried out 17 demining missions in the districts of Ștefan Vodă, Ungheni and Orhei.

According to the Ministry of Defense, after researching the ground, the military engineers found 347 explosive objects and over 13,900 cartridges of different caliber, during the World War II.

The vast majority of explosive objects were found in the village of Răscăieți in the Ștefan Vodă district. 304 explosives of various calibers and more than 3,900 cartridges were discovered there after field research. In the same locality, another demining team identified 10,000 cartridges and 17 explosives, including artillery shells and anti-personnel mines.

All ammunition was destroyed in maximum security.

Since the beginning of this year, the engineers of the National Army have liquidated 1,328 explosive objects and 27,868 cartridges.
