Moldovan PM meets Stauceni mayor

Chisinau, Dec. 8 / MOLDPRES /- Today, on a working visit to Stăuceni village, Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița held a discussion with town hall mayor and staff, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

Mayor Alexandru Vornicu thanked the prime minister for the visit, mentioning that it is the first of this kind of a head of government in the 30 years of independence. He stressed that the decisions approved by the Cabinet of Ministers will significantly contribute to the development of the community. "In the case of our locality, the Road Fund has increased by 1.4 million lei, which will allow the renovation of several local roads," said Alexandru Vornicu.

During the discussions with the local public administration, the issues it faces were addressed, as well as the initiatives to be implemented.

The premier appreciated the high degree of vaccination of the population of Stăuceni - about 68%, the highest in the country, and the way in which many projects with beneficial impact for citizens are implemented.

"When I found out that the highest vaccination rate is registered in Stăuceni, I really wanted to come in person and congratulate you. The government trusts the local public administration, appreciates the communities that make an effort to develop. In our turn, we fully support local development, so that all villages and towns have conditions. In this sense, a double budget has been provided for the Road Fund for the first level local public authorities, while the Regional and Local Development Fund will have a budget of over 770 million lei. These means will be distributed locally on clear and transparent criteria, based on the projects submitted by the town halls ", said Natalia Gavrilița.
