MEDIACOR center to be open for all visitors for two days

Chisinau, 9 Dec. / MOLDPRES /- All those interested in creative and digital media industry will be able to visit the MEDIACOR Center, located at the headquarters of the State University of Moldova (USM), which organized Open Days on 9-10 December.

The centre's managers urged all those interested to know closely what a center of excellence for digital-media production means. During the event, specialized tours will be organized through the four thematic areas of the digital production hub, located on an area of ​​3400 square meters.

"The spaces offered by MEDIACOR will be presented to professionals, production studios, students for collaboration, training and production of multimedia products, applying technologies in step with global trends in digital media," according to a statement of the Center.

In the same way, media technologies for the virtualization of film sets will be exhibited in working order. Visitors will be able to watch through the lenses of RV glasses the cartoon ARIPI, the first local virtual reality production. At the same time, the MILAP Film School (Make It Like A Pro) will launch at MEDIACOR a new film course with practical and theoretical training by well-known filmmakers and videographers. The guests of the center will discover the new media activities of the School of Advanced Studies in Journalism, which is the first MEDIACOR resident.

MEDIACOR is the first center of excellence for digital-media production that marks a new stage in the development of Creative Industries in the Republic of Moldova. The creation of MEDIACOR was made possible by the partnership between the US Embassy, ​​the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Governments of Sweden, the United Kingdom, the Ministry of Education and Research, the Ministry of Culture, the State University of Moldova and the COR Association. The value of the partnership is almost three million dollars, of which 1.3 million dollars represent the support of USAID, Sweden and UK aid.

The center was inaugurated on November 17. Hosted by USM, MEDIACOR offers spaces for collaboration, production, filming and post-production that will allow students, professionals and production studios to make media products to the standards of the media industry, applying new technologies in step with global trends in digital media.
