Chisinau, 9 December /MOLDPRES/ - A weekly working meeting of the Joint Control Commission, chaired by Moldova’s delegation, was held in Bender today, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.

During discussions on the organizational issue, the sides confirmed two new experts on behalf of the Chisinau delegation, who are to cover the subjects dealing with the public order and combating criminality in the Security Zone.

The discussions became hot after the Joint Military Command had presented the report on the situation in the Security Zone on the period 1-7 December 2021, which was not approved. The sides found out that the report did not show a new serious infringement, dealing with the illegal presence of so called ‘’border guards.’’

The case was documented on 2 December by employees of the Dubasari police inspectorate nearby the Cocieri village, a settlement checked by Moldova’s authorities. Thus, while fulfilling their job task, policemen noticed two vehicles of the so-called ‘’border guards’’’ forces subordinated to Tiraspol. Being asked to stop, under the law, the representatives of the unconstitutional forces accelerated and disappeared in the uncontrolled area. The Joint Military Command was immediately informed, in order to instruct the movement of military observers on site.

Moldova’s delegation condemns such provocative actions undertaken in the perimeter of responsibility of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces, immediately after the end of the JCC meeting from 2 December 2021. This time too, Tiraspol’s representatives obviously showed that they disregard provisions of the ceasefire agreement from 21 July 1992 and other documents of the peacekeeping operation at Dniester.

The Dubasari police inspectorate registered the incident and will investigate it in accordance with the national legislation.
