Several Covid wards to be reopened in hospitals in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, January 21 / MOLDPRES /- A number of 240 additional beds will be activated in Chisinau on 24 January to treat COVID-19 patients.

The mayor's office announced that the 240 medical facilities will be activated due to the increase in the number of Covid cases in the Republic of Moldova, caused by the extended community transmission of the Omicron strain.

Thus, from Monday, January 24, will be activated: 60 beds (2 sections) for pregnant women, with medium and severe forms at the Municipal Clinical Hospital Gheorghe Paladi; 30 beds (1 section) for pregnant women (light forms) at the Municipal Clinical Hospital St. Treime; 150 beds for adults at the Municipal Clinical Hospital of Phthisiopneumology.

According to the Chisinau municipality, a number of 758 treatment beds are currently activated for COVID-19 treatment: 60 beds for pregnant women at the Municipal Maternity Hospital No2; 106 beds for children Municipal Clinical Hospital Contagious Diseases Children; 92 beds (3 sections) at the Municipal Children's Clinical Hospital V. Ignatenco; 300 beds at the Municipal Clinical Hospital St. Arhanghel Mihail; 200 beds (5 sections) at the Municipal Clinical Hospital St. Treime.

At the same time, the representatives of the mayor's office state that the Covid Department of Moldexpo, which has a capacity of 450 beds, is kept in reserve, the unit can be activated, if necessary, in a maximum of 48 hours.
