3,282,344 voters set in State Register of Voters

Chisinau, 2 Feb. / MOLDPRES /- Total number of voters registered in the State Register of Voters on 2 February is 3,282,344.

The Central Electoral Authority announced today the exact number of voters, so out of the total number of voters registered in the State Register of Voters (3,282,344), 2,773,078 citizens with the right to vote are assigned to administrative-territorial units of level II. Most voters live in Chisinau - 641,753, and the next live in Balti - 101,426.

According to the Central Electoral Commission, the difference between voters registered in the State Register of Voters and citizens assigned by administrative units is due to persons who are citizens of the Republic of Moldova, but do not have registration at home or residence. These are both citizens who have authorized leave abroad (246,464 people) and citizens with the right to vote registered in the administrative-territorial units on the left bank of the Dniester, who are temporarily out of the sovereign control of the constitutional authorities of the Republic of Moldova (262,802).
