Education institutions from Moldovan capital to give up online education as of 7 February 2022

Chisinau, 3 February /MOLDPRES/ - The municipal education institutions from the Chisinau city will resume their work with physical presence of pupils in classrooms as of 7 February 2022. 

The Chisinau general mayor, Ion Ceban, today informed on social networks that, following the joint meeting of the municipal extraordinary public health commission and the municipal commission for emergency situations, a decision had been unanimously taken to resume the education process with physical presence in classrooms.   

According to the mayor, the experts in medicine found out a stabilization of the pandemic situation and lack of serious and quite serious evolutions of COVID-19, Omicron variant, in children. ‘’In the complicated context of the forthcoming exams, including the Baccalaureate ones, and not only, they unanimously voted for the resumption of the education process with the physical presence of pupils and teachers in classrooms,’’ Ceban said.      

At the same time, the mayor specified that the participants in the joint meeting had discussed the increase in the sum compensated by the city hall for the help of people at risk, which would amount to 312 million lei. In the context, the mayor informed that the Chisinau city hall would ask for the compensation of this sum from the state budget.
