Moldovan parliament declares vacant MP mandate

Chisinau, 3 February /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova’s parliament of the 11th legislative period declared an MP mandate vacant today.
The vacancy of the lawmaker seat occurs as a result of the ceasing of the mandate of the MP of the parliamentary faction of the Bloc of Communists and Socialists, Svetlana Capatina.
In line with the law on the status of lawmaker in parliament, the vacant mandate will be given to the alternate member immediately next in the list of the electoral bloc. The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) in a five-day period will consider the candidacy of the alternate candidate and will submit it to the Constitutional Court for the mandate’s validation.
The Constitutional Court will validate the next mandate in a period of ten days after the declaring of the vacancy of the MP mandate.
