State of Qatar donates consignment of humanitarian assistance for orphan children, people with special needs

Chisinau, 4 February /MOLDPRES/ - The State of Qatar, through its Embassy in Chisinau, today donated a consignment of humanitarian assistance for backing the Charity Fund for taking care of children, elderly people and persons with special needs of the Orthodox Church of Moldova.  

Attending the ceremony of the donation’s delivery were Metropolitan of Chisinau and All Moldova, Most Right Reverend Vladimir, Priest Vadim Cheibas and Charge d’affaires of the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Moldova Hamad Bin Rashid al Athba.  

The Qatari diplomat gave a speech, in which he referred to the permanent effort of the State of Qatar, through the initiative of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations, for a closer cooperation between races, religions and cultures and establishment of solid relations between them, in order to achieve the human goal of peaceful coexistence, acceptance of the others, respect for other cultures and spreading of tolerance between different religions.     

For his part, Metropolitan Vladimir thanked the State of Qatar for the generous humanitarian gesture, which represents assistance for the charity societies with which the Church is dealing.

The today’s donation is the first of this year provided by the State of Qatar. In 2021, the Interior Ministry and the Health Ministry received consignments of humanitarian assistance on behalf of the State of Qatar.
