1,133 pupils in Moldova infected with COVID-19 - education ministry says

Chisinau, Feb. 7 / MOLDPRES /- Over four hundred primary, lower secondary and high school pupils became infected with COVID-19 last week, the total number now stands at 1,133. The figures were announced today by the Ministry of Education and Research (MEC).
According to the epidemiological situation on February 4, in the educational institutions of the Republic of Moldova the number of students tested positive with COVID-19 was 1133 people. 203 teachers and 74 auxiliary staff were also infected with the new coronavirus.
In the same kindergartens in the country, 94 cases of infection among the little ones were registered, and 186 educators and 101 auxiliary employees tested positive for COVID-19.
The number of students infected with the new coronavirus has also increased. Thus, during the mentioned period, in the higher education institutions were registered 60 cases among students and 36 among lecturers.
According to the quoted source, so far, the vaccination rate of primary, secondary and high school teachers has reached 84.47%. The highest vaccination rate is in technical vocational education, and the lowest - in preschool education (76.08%)
As of today, general education institutions across the country have returned to physical education.
