Epidemiological situation in Chisinau stabilizing

Chisinau, Feb. 7 / MOLDPRES /- Epidemiological situation in Chisinau is stabilizing, with the number of COVID-19 patients declining.

The head of the General Directorate of Health and Social Assistance of the Chisinau Municipal Council, Boris Gâlcă, said at today's online meeting of the municipal services that the number of COVID-19 patients is decreasing and the epidemiological situation is stabilizing. Thus, starting today, two anti-COVID-19 treatment units, opened at the Municipal Children's Hospital in Chisinau "V. Ignatenco", have returned to their original destination. "The declining number of COVID-19 cases makes it possible to gradually exclude municipal hospitals from the COVID-19 circuit," Gâlcă said.

At the same time, the official specified that the large number of citizens being treated at home with mild forms of COVID-19, makes the health authorities of Chisinau municipality to remain on alert. Gâlcă asked the city's residents to get vaccinated, stating that the 46% vaccination rate is not enough to achieve collective immunity.
