People's Assembly of Gagauzia elects leadership

Chisinau, Feb. 7 / MOLDPRES /- The People's Assembly of Gagauzia (APG) managed from the 15th attempt at the meeting at the end of last week to elect its leadership. Thus, new president of the autonomous legislature is Dmitry Constantinov.
The deputies of the region also elected vice-presidents of APG - Gheorghi Leiciu, Nicolai Ormanji and Alexandr Tarnavschi.
Nine profile commissions will be operating in the newly elected People's Assembly, the presidents of which have been elected at the same meeting.
The People's Assembly of Gagauzia (Gagauziyanin Halk Toplușu) is the representative and legislative authority of the Autonomous Territorial Unit with special status Gagauz-Yeri, part of the Republic of Moldova. APG consists of 35 deputies, elected for a four-year term, in uninominal territorial constituencies.
The last elections in the APG took place on September 19.
