Over 100 COVID-19 vaccination certificates fraudulently issued last year by hospital in Chisinau

Chisinau, Feb. 7 / MOLDPRES /- Prosecutors for the Fight against Organized Crime and Special Cases (PCCOCS) have conducted searches for the illegal issuance of COVID-19 vaccination certificates by employees of Sfanta Treime Hospital in 2021. More than 100 certificates have already been targeted.
According to the PCCOCS, at the notification of the Ministry of Health, the searches carried out by the officers of the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and the National Investigation Inspectorate of the General Inspectorate of Police take place at the homes and jobs of three hospital employees - a deputy director and two nurses.
According to preliminary information, they had fraudulently issued certificates for over 100 people who were abroad, and thus obtained a criminal income of over 600,000 lei. In addition to accumulating sources of money, they destroyed the vaccines to be administered and thus adversely affected the mission of the relevant ministry, which procured these vaccines, thereby causing material damage to the State.
So far, medical records, mobile phones and draft documents have been seized during the searches.
Upon completion of the searches, PCCOCS prosecutors will assign criminal procedural status to the investigated persons.
