Internet Safety Week launched in Moldova

Chisinau, Feb. 7 / MOLDPRES /- Information Technology and Cyber ​​Security Service (STISC) launched Internet Safety Week today. The information campaign will run until 11 February and is organized in the context of the #SaferInternetDay marked annually on the second Tuesday in February.

The event aims to raise awareness of vulnerabilities in the online environment, amid significant development of Internet activities / services, emerging online issues and current concerns.

Thus, in the next period, STISC will organize several actions to increase communication about the minimum requirements to make the Internet a safer and better place for everyone, especially for the younger generation, by distributing recommendations on the main rules to stay always Safe Internet, with the aim of raising awareness of emerging online issues and current concerns, as well as enhancing the creative, useful and safe use of the Internet.

This year marks the 18th edition of Safer Internet Day, with the theme "Together for a better internet". All stakeholders are urged to come together to learn more about actions for a safer internet, "whether you are a young person, child, parent, teacher or educator, a decision maker or an organization or an industry, everyone has a role to play in creating and maintaining a better online world. ” Awareness-raising activities will be organized around the world.

#SaferInternetDay initiative belongs to the European Union project, SafeBorders, being launched in 2004 and taken over by the Insafe network as one of its first actions in 2005. Safer Internet Day has grown beyond its traditional geographical area and is currently celebrated in about 200 countries. and regions around the world. Over the years, Internet Safer Day has become a major event in the online security calendar.
