Startup from Moldova builds energy efficient houses from durable materials

Chisinau, 9 February /MOLDPRES/ - A startup specialized in energy efficient constructions has been nominated winner of the acceleration programme, Moldova Power Accelerator, organized with the support of the DEX Innovation Centre from the Czech Republic, within the Startup Moldova project.     

Uniqa Wall Systems & Construction is a startup which has been producing and assembling pre-fabricated panels, with the help of which a new type of dwellings are built: energy efficient ones. The dwellings correctly insulated contribute to cutting the maintenance costs and to a better quality of the air in rooms.  

Also, the homes of the new type considerable reduce the carbon dioxide emissions, given that 28 per cent of the global carbon dioxide emissions come from the consumption of energy in dwellings.  Dutch innovative technologies and durable materials with zero waste are used for the construction of ecological houses. The dwellings made in Moldova are exported to such European countries as the Netherlands, Germany, Romania and Switzerland.  

„We were happy to be accepted for this unique experience to be able to see our business with ‘’eagle eyes.’’ We are grateful to the team of organizers, mentors, facilitators, participants and investors who ensured a quite productive environment and useful instruments. In these weeks, we have climbed several steps in the development of the business,’’ the co-founder of Uniqa Wall Systems & Construction, Anatol Malancea, said.   

Moldova Power Accelerator was organized within the programme, Power Tech, meant for entrepreneurs who develop solutions for the renewable energy sector. It represents a platform which connects various actors from industry and creates bridges of cooperation for the development of research and innovations. The project comprises more programmes on integration of technologies in the sustainable energy sector, among which also a laboratory set up at the Moldovan Technical University, within the Startup Moldova programme, with the support of the TEKWILL project, backed by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Sweden.
