Moldovan head of state, U.S. Ambassador discuss bilateral cooperation with United States

Chisinau, 16 February /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today had a meeting with new Ambassador of the United States to Moldova Kent Logsdon, after the American diplomat had handed over the letters of accreditation to the country, the presidential press service has reported.

The officials discussed the present situation in Moldova and in the region, as well as the need to enhance the bilateral cooperation with the USA on diverse dimensions.

The head of state expressed the Moldovan authorities’ interest in the development of the cooperation in the fields of economy, security and defence, energy resilience and environment. At the same time, President Maia Sandu thanked the United States for the support provided to strengthen the democratic processes in Moldova, in actions of combating the corruption and for the support in the carrying out of projects on regional development and modernization of Moldova.
