Moldova, Albania to sign agreement on police cooperation

Chisinau, Feb. 23 / MOLDPRES /- Cabinet approved today the signing of the Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Albania on police cooperation.

According to the government's communication and protocol department, the main objective of the Agreement is to combat crime more effectively. Thus, the competent authorities of the two states will cooperate in the field of combating crimes related to cross-border crime, drug manufacturing and trafficking, pimping, trafficking in human beings and sexual exploitation of children, theft and illicit trafficking in weapons and armaments, but also in other areas such as the eradication of cybercrime.

The signing of the bilateral agreement will facilitate the exchange of information and good practices between the police structures of both states. Preventing and combating organized crime is a priority direction in the activity of the MAI of the Republic of Moldova and occupies an important place in the dialogue of international police cooperation.
