Chisinau, 24 February /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita said that she would go to parliament today to establish state of emergency all over Moldova for a period of 60 days. The statement was made after the meeting of the Commission for Emergency Situations and the cabinet meeting.

The PM called to calm and asked journalists to inform the public opinion correctly, without obscure or false sources.

„All state’s institutions are functional. There is no need for panic. We have enough stocks of food; the banking system is stable and resilient. For the time being, we have no risks of worsening of the infrastructure as regards the supply with gas or electric energy, or we have solutions for any eventualities,’’ Natalia Gavrilita said.

The prime minister stressed that ‘’Moldova is a neutral state and will act through the light of neutrality.’’

Attending the meeting, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu said that what happens is a glaring violation of the international law norms.

In the context, the Moldovan diplomacy head gave assurances that the diplomatic network worked at the maximal capacity. Popescu reiterated the urge to the Moldovan citizens who are temporary in Ukraine to return home. ‘’For this, we have created a crisis cell and we activated emergency diplomatic contacts,’’ Nicu Popescu added.
