Over 300 Ukrainians asked for asylum in Moldova

Chisinau, Feb. 25 / MOLDPRES /- 315 asylum applications from Ukrainians have been registered in the last 24 hours. The announcement was made today during a briefing by Interior Minister Ana Revenco.

According to the quoted source, around 8.00 am, 15,817 Ukrainian citizens entered the country, over 3,000 of them left for Romania. The most requested customs are Palanca, Tudora, Otaci and Criva. At some crossing points there are queues of over 20 kilometers.

The head of the Ministry of Interior specified that the number of employees was tripled at the four crossing points. Most Ukrainians who come to Moldova have their own cars, and for those who crossed the border on foot, six coaches were provided.

According to the quoted source, the Ukrainian citizens who need help can be accommodated in centers in Chisinau and can be helped in the camps in Tudora and the one near Otaci.

Revenco also announced that in the last 24 hours the number of patrol crews has doubled, and their mission is to streamline traffic near the border crossing points.
