Expired meat, fish removed from shelves following ANSA controls

Chisinau, March 21 / MOLDPRES /- Inspectors from the National Agency for Food Safety / ANSA / together with inspectors from the Territorial Directorates for Food Safety continue their controls in the trade units. As a result, several batches of meat and expired fish were found and withdrawn.

According to ANSA, the following non-compliances were detected as a result of the controls: exposure to marketing of 18 kilograms of refrigerated and semi-finished meat; 11.5 kg of refrigerated fish in the absence of the word "country of origin"; eight batches of food in the absence of consumer information; exposure to market for spoiled fruit; two batches of improperly marked food, a batch of infested flax seeds.

Reports were drawn up on behalf of the economic operators. Non-compliant products have been withdrawn from sale.
